A deeper dive for students who already play bass. Drawing on his work across jazz, bebop, rock, and pop, Ragn will cover the tools that transform a competent bass player into a sought-after one: walking bass lines and chord-tone awareness, locking in with the drummer, reading charts and lead sheets, playing across styles (jazz, blues, funk, rock), dynamics and note choice, and the art of knowing when not to play. Students will bring pieces they're working on and get individual coaching alongside group work. Open to electric and upright players. Expect to stretch your ears, your fingers, and your concept of what the bass can do.

Ages 14+. At least two years of bass playing experience. Bring your own bass (electric or upright) and any charts or music you're currently working on; amps provided.
