Yukon Summer Music Camp

Beginner Chamber Ensemble

Ever played in a group where every single note matters — including yours? Chamber music is the art of making music in a small group without a conductor, where everyone leads and everyone listens. VSO Principal Second Violin Sam Milner and Interro Quartet cellist Sebastian Ostertag guide beginning ensemble players through the fundamentals: how to breathe together, how to follow without a baton, how to balance your sound against someone else's, and how to have a musical conversation without saying a word.

All string, wind, and keyboard instruments welcome — the only requirement is that you can play your instrument at a basic level and want to find out what happens when you add other people to the mix!
