Yukon Summer Music Camp

Beginner Cello for Youth (Ages 8-14)

Hey there kids! Didn't you always want to play the cello? Now is your big chance to play the big strings! Under the guidance of Toronto-based cellist Sebastian Ostertag — a founding member of the Interro Quartet and a teacher who has spent years introducing young players to classical music through community programs across Canada — students will learn simple melodies and harmonies, get comfortable holding the bow and producing a clean tone, and by the end of the week will be playing some genuinely fun things with their friends that sound pretty awesome. The cello is a big instrument with a big, resonant sound. Come feel what it's like to make it sing!
